Development Associate

Overview

Our client seeking a highly motivated Development Associate to join their team in New York City. The Development Associate will play a critical role in supporting the execution of large-scale real estate projects across multiple asset classes, including residential, mixed-use and commercial.

This position offers the opportunity to gain exposure to all phases of the development cycle — from acquisition and entitlements to design, construction, financing, leasing, and asset management.

Your responsibilities as a Development Associate:

• Build and maintain pro forma models for potential acquisitions and development projects.
• Assist senior team members with oversight of design, entitlement, and construction activities.
• Monitor budgets, schedules, and progress reports for active projects.
• Research market trends, comparable projects, and demographic data to inform investment decisions.
• Maintain strong relationships with brokers, municipal agencies, and community stakeholders.
• Support leasing and marketing teams with materials and analytics.

What our client is looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Urban Planning, Architecture, or related field (Master’s degree a plus).
• 2–4 years of experience in real estate development, investment, acquisitions, or other related activities in the real estate field.
• Familiarity with NYC zoning, entitlement processes, and permitting is preferred.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, oral and written communication skills and attention to detail
