Overnight Licensed Veterinary Technician

OverviewThe Hospital for Veterinary Surgery (HVS), the first surgery-exclusive veterinary hospital in New York City, is seeking to further build our team for inpatient care with the addition of a licensed overnight Technician/Technologist. We are looking for an LVT to cover 12-hour (7pm-7am) overnight shifts on either a part-time or full-time basis. We are a collaborative team of passionate veterinary professionals, practicing in a clinician-designed, 10,000 square foot facility.

Our focus on team wellness and technology is to ensure you will always have the tools and support needed to succeed, grow, and thrive. This role is responsible for working in conjunction with our overnight veterinarian and veterinary assistant to provide exceptional care to post-op patients.
- $34 - $48/hr.

- Monitoring patient recovery, ensuring our standard of client and patient experience is met
- Placing and maintaining intravenous, central, arterial, and urinary catheters
- Maintaining feeding tubes and chest tubes
- Monitoring patients requiring oxygen supplementation and transfusions
- Patient care inclusive of pre and post outpatient surgical care—Obtaining blood samples, removing sutures, placing bandages
- Licensure in New York State
- Experience with practice management software (ezyVet is our in-house system)
- Adaptability, being able to pivot effortlessly while demonstrating a positive attitude with clients and co-workers
- Highly organized and acute attention to detail
- Sound judgment with the ability to work ethically, independently, and responsibly
- Resourceful and collaborative problem resolution skills
- Strong and respectful written and verbal communication skills
- Dedication to excellent service for each client and patient
- Openness to feedback, coaching, and continuous learning
- Comfort working in close proximity with animals, including large dogs
