Greater Staten Island Veterinary Services is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our busy emergency and surgery practice in Staten Island. If you have experience working with animals, we want to hear from you.

About GSiVS: We are a multispecialty practice with boarded specialists in cardiology, surgery, and critical care. Our clients and patients have access to internal medicine, ophthalmology, oncology, radiation oncology, neurology, dermatology, and radioactive iodine treatment via our affiliated practices in Woodbridge and Eatontown, NJ.

Role Overview: Veterinary Assistants at GSiVS work as part of the team to ensure patients receive the best possible care and a smooth ER experience. Primary duties include facilitating treatment and examinations by technicians and doctors.

  • Provide support to doctors and technicians
  • Restrain patients for exams and procedures
  • Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing
  • Monitor and document patient vital signs
  • Assist with obtaining radiographs
  • Properly use and maintain hospital equipment
  • Help keep the hospital clean, neat and stocked
  • Walk dogs as directed
  • Feed patients as directed

Base Pay

$17 - $22 USD
