We are hiring a full-time Shift Lead Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT).
Pay range: $23.43 to $33.84 per hour. For a limited time, a sign-on bonus may be offered for this location. The pay range listed reflects a general hiring range for the area; the specific rate and sign-on bonus are based on the candidate’s experience, skill level, abilities, education, and may vary depending on location and minimum wage laws.

- Actively recruit new clients by promoting hospital services, Optimum Wellness Plans, preventative care and pet health needs.
- Manage routing the flow of clients and pets to ensure superior client care and maximum productivity of the veterinary medical team.
- Provide professional, efficient and exceptional service at all times; educate clients about their pet's health, assist with procedures, and prepare for other procedures as directed.
- Under supervision of a veterinarian, perform veterinary technician appointments where approved; all appointments must be under the direction and supervision of a veterinarian and in compliance with state law.
- Assist incoming clients with documentation, enter pet information and history, ensure proper identification, and provide prompt service.
- Assist outgoing clients with instructions, invoices, dispensing prescription items per veterinarian's instructions, selling retail products, and scheduling future appointments.
- Manage finances with accurate balances and proper opening and closing procedures.
- Support the veterinarian to maximize productivity and communicate with associates to maintain workflow.
- Obtain client information and history and maintain complete medical charts.
- Ensure safety of pets, clients and associates using safe restraining techniques; maintain clean, sterile and organized treatment areas, exam rooms and labs.
- Assist with surgery as applicable.
- Train and mentor new paraprofessional associates.
- Quality check medical records, go-home medications, regulatory documentations, hospital cleanliness, and timeliness of doctors seeing exam room patients.
- Utilize technical skills within state practice acts; conduct administrative functions as necessary.
- Assist Practice Manager in developing an efficient, productive hospital team that provides high-quality care and service, following Banfield protocols and all laws; build culture and brand.
- Support Practice Manager in hospital labor management.
- May assist in selection, training, and day-to-day supervision of the paraprofessional team.
- Foster an environment where the team delivers quality veterinary care to pets.
- Provide effective communication between associates, clients, hospital leadership and Central Team Support.
- Ensure all hospital associates adhere to dress and grooming guidelines.
- Prepare the team for cases scheduled, assist with transfers or referrals to provide continuity of care.
- Identify bottlenecks and help remove barriers in medical operations to support doctors.
- Confer with field leadership on client resolutions, invoice adjustments and experience exceptions.
