Nachbar Veterinary Hospital, a Care Vet partner, is seeking a dynamic part‑time Veterinarian to be part of a collaborative and tenured team in Springville, NY! This position offers full‑time benefits for part‑time hours, meaning you can manage your schedule knowing Care Vet has you covered.
About the PositionThis is the perfect opportunity for a Veterinarian to be part of a team working in a family‑like atmosphere. As a part‑time DVM, you will maintain schedule flexibility working 20 or more hours per week. Ideally, this candidate will have surgical skills and a desire to make a difference in a community whose mission is to consistently provide authentic care by compassionately serving as a unified team in harmony with our clients.

We are committed to practicing high quality, progressive, individualized medical care for our patients. We provide you with the tools to help your patients through industry‑leading medical and diagnostic capabilities. The incoming Veterinarian will enjoy practicing medicine in our beautiful facility that includes a warm, comfortable reception area; four spacious exam rooms, convenient in‑house laboratory and pharmacy; efficient treatment room flow to surgery and diagnostic rooms;
and two separate, well ventilated animal wards. We provide general medicine and surgical care for all companion animals, including dogs, cats, birds and reptiles, rabbits, ferrets, and “pocket pets” such as hamsters, gerbils, and hedgehogs. We perform many referral orthopedic surgeries for multiple orthopedic conditions including leveling osteotomy for cruciate failure as well as non‑routine soft tissue surgery. We also offer acupuncture, chiropractic, and Traditional Chinese Medicine therapies for certain conditions.

Springville is a quaint community located 45 minutes south of Buffalo. The Village of Springville is fully surrounded by beautifully wooded hillsides, dramatic stream valleys and very productive farmland – and is nestled in the foothills of the Allegany Mountains. The community is small but tight knit and if you enjoy climbing, biking, or spending time outdoors, you’ll fit right in.
Plus, beyond its surrounding nature, it’s just a short drive to Buffalo, Niagara Falls, and Toronto!
Pay Range: $60,000-$80,000 base annually. Exact salary will depend on the position, location, and experience.
Responsibilities- Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
- Treat and dress wounds
- Perform surgery on animals
- Test for and vaccinate against diseases
- Operate medical equipment, such as x‑ray machines
- Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
- Prescribe medication
- Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
- Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
- Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
- Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
- Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
- Strong fondness and understanding of animals
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of animal behavior
- Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals
