Maynard Farms is hiring Farm workers and Laborers for Crop Production under an H-2A Seasonal Program.
Job Summary8 Full‑time positions available from 03/10/2026 to 12/20/2026.
Responsibilities- Manually plant, cultivate, transplant, weed, thin, prune, harvest vegetables and fruits (broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes, beans, squash, berries, corn, pumpkins, peaches, plums, apples, apricots, pears).
- Use hand tools (shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, knives) and operate tractors, tractor‑drawn machinery, and self‑propelled machinery to plow, harrow, fertilize, spray, and harvest.
- Construct and repair trellises, fences, and farm buildings; participate in irrigation activities, setting up and operating irrigation equipment.
- Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment.
- Apply pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers; identify crops, pests, and weeds to determine appropriate treatments.
- Maintain irrigation ditches, record crop information (pesticide use, yields, costs), and inform farmers or managers of crop progress.
- Harvest fruits and vegetables by hand and meet production targets such as picking a minimum of 100 boxes of apples per day with no more than 4% bruising.
- Minimum of three months verifiable experience performing the tasks described.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Valid driving record / driving requirement.
- Ability to lift 75 lbs consistently.
- Experience with repetitive movements, extensive pushing/pulling, and frequent stooping/bending.
- Post‑hire drug screen at the employer's expense.
- Willingness to complete 4 days of training to meet the apple picking target.
Employers may conduct random drug or alcohol tests at the employer’s expense after hiring. The employer maintains a zero‑tolerance policy for illegal drugs, alcohol, and prescription drug abuse. A positive drug test or violation of this policy will result in immediate corrective action, up to termination.
Applicants must be physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs and must be able to use a cell phone only during breaks. Basic instructions in English are required. All workers undergoing training for apple picking will receive at least four days of training.
