Assistant/Associate/Full Professor Veterinary Surgeon
Long Island University College of Veterinary Medicine (LIU-CVM) in Brookville, New York invites applications for a full-time or part-time, tenure or clinical track faculty position in basic surgery. Successful candidates will be engaged in educational, research, and service activities. Primary responsibilities include the Trap‑Neuter‑Release program clinical and didactic teaching in the Principles of Surgery course, involvement in the Small Animal Surgery course and laboratories, supervision of the Small Animal Surgery clinical clerkship, and active participation in the Veterinary Skills courses offered in semesters 1 to 6 of the DVM program.
Responsibilities- Serve as core faculty for the Trap‑Neuter‑Release program and deliver didactic instruction in the Principles of Surgery course.
- Teach the Small Animal Surgery course and laboratory components.
- Supervise the Small Animal Surgery clinical clerkship.
- Active participation in Veterinary Skills courses (semesters 1‑6 of the DVM program).
- Engage in curriculum development, creation of innovative learning resources, and committee service (e.g., admissions, curriculum, research).
- Develop independent or collaborative research in veterinary surgery and contribute to the College’s research mission.
- DVM or equivalent degree with expertise in veterinary (small animal) surgery.
- Specialty board certification or eligibility by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) or equivalent is desired.
- Advanced training in small animal surgery and research; a PhD is desired.
- Proven ability to promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Strong teaching philosophy, communication skills, and collaborative mindset with faculty, students, and alumni.
