Compensation: $130,000 – $150,000/year
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
TAG Med Staffing is hiring a Director of Nursing (Ambulatory Surgery Center) in Nassau County, NY for our client. This leadership role oversees perioperative operations, including OR and PACU services, staffing, quality initiatives, and regulatory compliance within a high-volume ASC. You will partner with the Administrator and physician leadership to ensure safe, efficient patient care and strong clinical operations, making this ideal for an experienced ASC nursing leader with a hands-on leadership style.
Responsibilities as the Director of Nursing:
- Clinical Operations & Staffing: Oversee daily perioperative operations, assessing case volume and patient acuity to ensure appropriate staffing levels, skill mix, and schedule adjustments.
- Staff Scheduling & Coverage: Plan and communicate staffing schedules, manage daily assignments, and ensure adequate coverage for breaks, lunches, and schedule changes.
- Quality & Patient Care Oversight: Monitor quality of care across OR, PACU, and perioperative units, coordinating interventions and communicating outcomes to the Administrator.
- Leadership & Performance Management: Support staff performance evaluations, provide documented feedback, and assist with staff development and corrective action initiatives.
- Improvement, Education & Resources: Lead quality improvement efforts, support staff education and in-service programs, and ensure equipment and supplies are available to support safe, efficient surgical care.
Qualifications for the Director of Nursing:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required (BSN).
- Licensure: Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Experience: 3-5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience within an ambulatory surgery center or perioperative environment, with demonstrated supervisory responsibility.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of ASC operations, perioperative workflows, quality improvement processes, and regulatory standards.
- Skills & Attributes: Proven clinical leader with excellent decision-making and interpersonal skills, the ability to manage high-acuity situations, and the capacity to lead effectively in a fast-paced perioperative setting.
