1 on 1 RN School Nurse NYC Schools

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced and compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide 1:1 care for medically fragile students in public schools across all five boroughs of New York City, with a strong need in Brooklyn
. This is an independent contractor role offering a steady schedule and the opportunity to make a direct impact on a child’s ability to attend school safely.

$50‑55+ per hour (1099 Contractor Role)

• Be a lifeline for a student who relies on your expertise
• Choose your preferred location and case type
• School‑day hours (typically 8 AM – 3 PM) – no nights or weekends
• Consistent daily schedule with the same student

• Provide one-to-one nursing care for a medically fragile student
• Monitor and manage conditions such as:
• Seizure care
• Diabetes management
• G‑tube feeding, suctioning, oxygen administration, ventilator support
• Pulse oximetry and medication administration
• Accompany the student on the school bus if required
• Communicate with school staff, families, and medical teams
• Maintain documentation in compliance with DOE and NYS guidelines

• Valid New York State RN license
• Minimum of 3 years of RN experience
• Skilled in relevant care for medically fragile students
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Pediatric, school-based, or community health experience preferred
