Nurse Practitioner – Pain Management

Location: Bronx, NY
Position Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Salary Range: $130,000 – $150,000 (based on experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pain Management Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join a well-established outpatient, interventional-focused pain management practice. This role involves evaluating and treating patients with acute and chronic pain conditions, developing comprehensive treatment plans, and collaborating closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong clinical judgment, experience managing complex pain disorders, and a patient-centered approach to care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and manage patients with chronic and acute pain conditions
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and review detailed medical histories
  • Develop individualized pain management treatment plans
  • Prescribe and manage medications appropriately
  • Utilize interventional pain techniques and conservative therapies (e.g., physical therapy, medications)
  • Perform basic injections (highly preferred)
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests to determine the cause of pain
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members
  • Educate patients and families on pain management strategies
  • Monitor treatment effectiveness and adjust plans as necessary
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR/EHR systems
Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Active New York State Nurse Practitioner license
  • National Board Certification (AANP or ANCC required)
  • In-depth knowledge of pain disorders and management strategies
  • Experience evaluating complex pain cases
  • Strong understanding of safe and appropriate prescribing practices
  • Proficiency with diagnostic testing interpretation

    Basic injection skills preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
