About the department: Bassett Medical Center's Intensive Care Unit is a 14-bed critical care unit, supporting the critical care and needs of a network. Being this vital support for our rural community, and a trauma hospital, we utilize advanced treatments that rival large medical centers. We have close interaction with our providers, patients and their families. The fast paced, and innovative nature our patient’s critical care needs drive opportunities for professional growth supported in a supportive and comfortable environment.
ResponsibilitiesThe Registered Professional Nurse (RN), Acute Care in the Intensive Care unit is accountable for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process. The RN assesses, plans, delivers, coordinates, integrates, and evaluates nursing care related to patient’s needs. The RN contributes to the support of patients through interdisciplinary teamwork.
QualificationsEducation:
- 2 year / Associate Degree in Nursing, required
- Vocational / Technical Diploma Professional Nursing Program, required
- 4 year / Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred
All RN’s hired and do not currently hold a BSN will be expected to demonstrate enrollment in a bachelor’s prepared nursing program within 4 years of hire. BSN must be completed within 10 years. RN’s licensed on or before 12/19/17 are/remain exempt from this requirement.
Experience:
- New graduate or less than one year of experience as a Registered Nurse, required
License/Certification:
- NYS licensure as Registered Nurse or valid interim permit, required
- BLS certification will be required within 6 months
- Other certifications may be needed based on department requirements

Pay TransparencySalary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement.
Pay Range: USD $40.20/Hour - USD $59.52/Hour.
