Location: New York

Responsibilities- Perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and re-assignments as per policy.
- Conduct thorough initial and ongoing assessments of patient health status, including vital signs, pain levels, and overall condition, and report any significant changes to the medical team promptly.
- Performs patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the patient’s age.
- Prepare, safely administer, and document prescribed medications and treatments, including IV therapy, and monitor for any adverse effects.
- Provide care for patients recovering from surgery, which includes changing dressings, managing surgical drains, and monitoring for complications.
- Competently operate and maintain various medical equipment, such as IV pumps, feeding tubes, catheters, and oxygen tanks.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with physicians, surgeons, and an interdisciplinary team (e.g., physical therapists, social workers, dieticians).
- Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge self-care instructions to ensure a smooth recovery and prevent readmission.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely documentation of all patient information, interventions, and outcomes in medical records.
- Be prepared to respond rapidly and effectively to medical emergencies, providing life-saving interventions when necessary.
- Identify the need for and follow the protocol in managing a RRT.
- Perform lab draws, order diagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, EKGs), and analyze results, collaborating with the healthcare team to adjust care plans accordingly.
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring their needs are met, and providing emotional and spiritual support to patients and their families during their healthcare journey.
- Current licensed as a Professional Registered Nurse in New York State.
- BCLS/ACLS required.
- ASA required.
- NIHSS Certification + 5 CEU hours of stroke education.
- Child Abuse Certification.
- Associates or better.
- Bachelor's Science or better in Bachelors Nursing.
- NYS Child Abuse Cert.
- NYS RN Registration.
- NIHSS Stroke.
- NYS RN.
- ACLS CERT AMERICAN HEART.
- BLS CERT AMERICAN HEART.
