Sign‑On Bonus: $3,500.00

• Takes histories, performs physical examinations, gives immunizations (as necessary) and does patient education and counseling.
• Orders appropriate lab work, draws blood for lab work if needed, and performs some lab tests such as wet prep microscopic exams.
• Prescribes treatment for minor illnesses, and consults with physician regarding medication, chronic illness and referrals when appropriate.
• Maintains legible and appropriate documentation and reviews records periodically. Does follow‑up of abnormal pap smears and reportable STD’s.
• Attends case conferences involving patients.
• Attends continuing education programs to increase skills and knowledge.
• Attends provider meetings and participates in quality improvement programs and team assignments.
• Identifies and categorizes each patient’s age‑specific grouping of needs, such as infants, adolescents, or geriatric patients.
• Follows OSHA standards of infection control under CDC guidelines endorsed by the department, organization, and overseen by Infection Control Officer.
• Provides safe and successful performance, including meeting productivity, quality and patient satisfaction standards.

• Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field.
• Minimum 5–8 years of work‑related experience; at least 4 years business‑office experience in a large medical practice preferred.
• Preferred 8+ years of clinical experience.
• Valid Nurse Practitioner license in New York State and CPR/BLS certification.
• Competence in delivery of health care to patients (including preventative health education).
• Ability to collaborate with other Health Center staff to maintain high‑quality standards and achieve client satisfaction.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (oral and written) preferred.

• Knowledge of diagnostic and treatment procedures that nurse practitioners are trained to perform.
• Competence in delivery of health care to patients, including preventative health education.
• Ability to collaborate with other members of the Health Center to maintain high quality standards and achieve client satisfaction.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (oral and written) preferred.
