New York-Presbyterian Queens has a 14-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to care for newborns who are premature, have a serious illness or condition, or need close observation in a monitored setting. High-frequency oscillatory ventilation is provided for newborns in need of respiratory support for complex respiratory illnesses and inhaled nitrogen dioxide for babies with pulmonary hypertension.

Responsibilities
  • As the Clinical Nurse Manager you will manage patient care delivery, serving as a clinical resource and administrator in the absence of unit leaders or when care-related issues arise in the NICU.
  • Facilitates efficient and cost effective daily operations of the unit(s) in relation to patient throughput including admissions, discharges and transfers.
  • Promotes a culture of safety and quality by ensuring continuity and consistency in the implementation of established standards, protocols, policies and procedures.
  • In collaboration with the Patient Care Director, participates in the establishment of unit short and long term goals and ensures its alignment with the hospital’s overall strategic goals.
  • Accountable for monitoring staff compliance with regulatory, hospital and divisional requirements.
  • Supports clinical decision-making, provides inspirational leadership and fosters a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications
  • Required Criteria
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current New York State RN license
  • 2+ years of acute care RN experience (in Pediatrics and NICU preferred)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Preferred Criteria
  • Master's Degree in related area
Shift, Schedule and Location

This is a Full Time Rotating Shift (2 PM - 12 PM) position at New York-Presbyterian/Queens hospital. Rotating weekends and holidays.

Salary Range
