* Summary:

** The Nursing Instructor promotes the professional development of all nursing personnel within the OR and Endoscopy departments by providing comprehensive orientation and ongoing education. This role assesses, plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates educational programs to address identified learning needs and support high-quality, patient-centered oncology care. The position delivers targeted educational interventions that foster clinical growth, leads nursing quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with unit managers, and oversees clinical competency assessment processes.

Additionally, the role continuously identifies and integrates evidence-based nursing practices while assisting with patient care activities as needed to maintain clinical expertise and competence.##

* Qualifications:

** Required

Education and Experience    License Requirement  License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.  

Education and Experience  1. Master’s degree in Nursing, Education, or a related healthcare field and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time nursing experience which includes education/preceptor experience or previous teaching experience; or  2. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Education or a related health care field and the equivalent of five (5) years of full-time nursing experience which includes education/preceptor experience or previous teaching experience.

NOTE:

Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

* Preferred Qualifications:

** Preferred qualifications include a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree and a minimum of two years of nursing experience in perioperative services and/or surgical settings. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience leading or participating in quality improvement initiatives and project implementation, along with board certification in a nursing specialty. A stable work history reflecting professional growth, reliability, and commitment to excellence in patient care is also strongly preferred.
