Registered Nurse - Central Nursing Department

Position Summary: We are seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse to join our Nursing Department at Urban Health Plan. As an RN for central nursing, you will report to our Chief Nursing Officer and Director of Nursing and provide support and coverage across multiple sectors including Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, OBGYN, and Medical Specialties.

Responsibilities:

• Triage patients and assist patients with their needs based on acuity.
• Provide quality nursing care and medication administration; administer immunizations/vaccines to specified patients.
• Monitor patient reactions and side‑effects.
• Perform CLIA Waived Testing.
• Assist care team with pre‑visit planning for high‑risk patients.
• Ensure implementation of plans of care.
• Behave as a role‑model and source of nursing guidance to medical assistants and phlebotomists that are part of the team.
• Assist with prepping patients as needed and provide patient education.
• Assist providers during examinations and treatments.
• Ensure proper sterilization procedures using germicides, sterilizers, or autoclave.
• Ensure departmental adherence to clinical policies and procedures.
• Maintain health records by documenting patient contact and updating patient profile.
• Implement standing orders.
• Check equipment, logs, and medical kits; assist with ordering medical supplies, medications, and vaccines.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Associate’s Degree in Nursing is required.
• NYS Registered Professional Nurse, required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish, required.
• Excellent communication skills, compassion, empathy, and team‑driven attributes are essential.
• Comfortable working across Bronx‑based health centers.
• Knowledge/training in electronic health records and Microsoft Office.

Starting Compensation: Minimum $82,560, Maximum $98,560 per annum contingent on degree and experience level.

Work Environment Type, Location, and

Schedule:

Onsite, Bronx, NY, Monday to Friday 8:00am‑5:00pm/9:00am‑6:00pm. Saturdays only on an as‑needed basis.
