Job Title: Med-Surg/Telemetry Float RN (Night Shift)

We are seeking experienced Med‑Surg/Telemetry Float Registered Nurses for a 13‑week contract assignment. This role involves floating between multiple units, including medical‑surgical floors and an acute inpatient rehab (ortho/neuro). The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and leadership in a fast‑paced hospital environment.

• Provide high‑quality nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical and post‑surgical conditions

• Float between designated units based on staffing needs

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team

• Administer medications and manage drips, including heparin, magnesium, and potassium riders

• Recognize and respond to changes in patient conditions and act promptly

• Serve as charge nurse when assigned

• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold all hospital and nursing standards

• Common diagnoses:
  Sepsis, COPD, CHF, post‑op recovery, plastics, and general medical‑surgical conditions

• ALC (Awaiting Long‑Term Care Placement) patients

• Patient ratio: 1:5–6

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State

• Minimum 1 successful traveler assignment completed (first‑time travelers not considered)

• BLS and ACLS certifications required

• Meditech experience required

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

• Ability to function well under pressure and in changing environments

• Demonstrated leadership and prioritization skills
