RN Unit Manager needed in Altamont, NY. Lead a nursing team, oversee resident care, mentor staff, and manage daily unit operations.
Job Details- Location: Altamont, NY (25 minutes from Albany)
- Position Type: Full-Time
- Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00am–4:00pm
- Salary Range: $85,000–$100,000/yr (negotiable based on experience)

Position SummaryThe RN Unit Manager is a leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of the nursing unit. You will guide and mentor staff, ensure compliance with policies, monitor quality of care, and advocate for residents and the unit. This role is key to maintaining operational efficiency while delivering excellent resident-centered care.
Primary Responsibilities- Supervise nursing staff and oversee daily unit operations
- Develop, implement, and enforce policies to ensure efficient, compliant care
- Mentor and support nurses, providing clinical guidance and professional development
- Establish and maintain high standards of care to ensure resident safety and well-being
- Review resident records and monitor care quality to ensure accurate treatment plans
- Conduct case reviews and ensure individualized care plans are consistently followed
- Address resident and family inquiries promptly and professionally
- Maintain adequate inventory of medical supplies to support smooth operations
- Collaborate with upper management and advocate for the unit’s needs
- Valid NYS RN license
- Minimum 2 years experience in long-term care (preferred)
- Minimum 1 year experience in a Unit Manager or supervisory role (preferred)
- Basic computer skills for documentation and communication
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Leadership ability with a focus on mentoring and team development
- Competitive salary: $85,000–$100,000/yr, negotiable based on experience
