Compass Healthcare Consulting & Placement is conducting a search for an experienced Attending Nurse Practitioner - NP, Acute Care, ANP or FNP for a Hospice position within a Hospital setting in the Bronx, NY. Qualified candidates will have prior Nurse Practitioner experience within Hospital, Inpatient Hospice, Community Based Hospice or Palliative Care or Med/Surg. Great opportunity for an experienced Nurse Practitioner to provide Hospice and Palliative Care to patients within the Hospital facility.

Attending Nurse Practitioner, ANP or FNP will assume continuous duties of patient care as assigned by the Hospital Medical Director.
Responsibilities- Provides primary care to patients admitted to the Hospital
- Performs and records history and physical on patients admitted
- Makes rounds on patient units (at times as prescribed).
- Ensures continuity of care by maintaining ongoing communication with Attending and Associate Physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
- Communicates with family members/significant others/health care proxy as appropriate regarding patients’ prognosis, the plan of care/treatment, medications, etc.
- Maintains a complete and legible medical record for each patient, including details supporting the diagnosis, the treatment and end result, and include plans for post-hospital care where appropriate.
- Participates in quality review, assessment and performance improvement functions as appropriate
- Cooperates fully in the overall functions and activities of the Hospital.
- Provides emergency care to employees and visitors when necessary.
- Liaison to the Department of Medicine.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the Hospital Medical Director and the Executive Medical Director.
- Current NYS Registered Nurse license.
- Current NYS Nurse Practitioners license and DEA License
- Master's Degree in Nursing is required.
- One (1) year experience in hospital, inpatient hospice, medical-surgical, community based
- Hospice or palliative care setting as a Nurse Practitioner is preferred.
- Competent to care for patients in the advanced stage of disease.
- 3600 hours or 2.5 years of NP working experience in hospital, inpatient hospice, medical-surgical, community-based Hospice, or palliative care setting as a Nurse Practitioner is required.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with patients, families, and staff.
Salary $160,000 - $180,000, Plus Excellent Benefits including Medical/Dental/Vision, Retirement Account, PTO & More!
