Compensation
- Travel (50+ miles from facility):
- Includes $1,964/week stipend
- Local Rate: $63/hour
- Active New York State RN License
- BSN required
- Minimum 2 years of Oncology nursing experience
- Chemotherapy & Immunotherapy experience required
- Office/Outpatient Oncology experience
- BLS certification
- OCN certification preferred
- Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification preferred
- EPIC experience highly preferred
- For travel roles: 1 year prior travel experience (not required for local/per diem)
The Clinical Nurse (RN – Oncology) provides safe, competent, and high-quality patient care using evidence-based nursing practice. This role involves comprehensive patient assessment, care coordination, patient education, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary healthcare team within a cancer center setting.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver patient-centered care using the nursing process and evidence-based practices
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
- Administer oncology treatments including chemotherapy and immunotherapy
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, symptom management, and follow-up care
- Effectively prioritize care activities, patient education, and discharge planning
- Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families
- Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and respect in all interactions
- Address patient concerns and initiate service recovery when needed
- Support patient engagement and shared decision-making
- Practice safe, efficient, and patient-centered care
- Identify and escalate safety risks or care barriers appropriately
- Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation using electronic medical records
- Perform charge nurse duties as assigned
- Assist with coordination of staffing, patient flow, and resource utilization
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and organizational standards
- Maintain and advance clinical competency in oncology nursing
- Participate in professional development, education, and shared governance activities
- Uphold ethical standards and professional nursing practice
- Setting: Outpatient/Office-based Cancer Center
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- ADN considered only with strong oncology experience and active BSN enrollment
