Oncology Nurse

Compensation

• Travel (50+ miles from facility):
• Includes $1,964/week stipend
• Local Rate: $63/hour

• Active New York State RN License
• BSN required
• Minimum 2 years of Oncology nursing experience
• Chemotherapy & Immunotherapy experience required
• Office/Outpatient Oncology experience
• BLS certification
• OCN certification preferred
• Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification preferred
• EPIC experience highly preferred
• For travel roles: 1 year prior travel experience (not required for local/per diem)

The Clinical Nurse (RN – Oncology) provides safe, competent, and high-quality patient care using evidence-based nursing practice. This role involves comprehensive patient assessment, care coordination, patient education, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary healthcare team within a cancer center setting.

• Deliver patient-centered care using the nursing process and evidence-based practices
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
• Administer oncology treatments including chemotherapy and immunotherapy
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, symptom management, and follow-up care
• Effectively prioritize care activities, patient education, and discharge planning
• Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families
• Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and respect in all interactions
• Address patient concerns and initiate service recovery when needed
• Support patient engagement and shared decision-making

• Practice safe, efficient, and patient-centered care
• Identify and escalate safety risks or care barriers appropriately
• Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation using electronic medical records

• Perform charge nurse duties as assigned
• Assist with coordination of staffing, patient flow, and resource utilization
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and organizational standards

• Maintain and advance clinical competency in oncology nursing
• Participate in professional development, education, and shared governance activities
• Uphold ethical standards and professional nursing practice

• Setting: Outpatient/Office-based Cancer Center

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• ADN considered only with strong oncology experience and active BSN enrollment
