Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Post Partum / Mother Baby

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Post Partum / Mother Baby care to support maternal and newborn patients in an acute care hospital setting. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns, ensuring high-quality clinical outcomes and a supportive patient experience.

Assignment Details
  • Contract Length: 14 weeks

  • Shift: Day Shift

  • Hours: 8:30 AM – 8:00 PM

Licensure & Certifications
  • Active New York State RN license (single-state license required; compact licenses not accepted)

  • Required

    Certifications:

    • BLS

    • ACLS

    • NRP

Required Clinical Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of Maternal and Child Health experience

  • Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience

  • Minimum 2 years of conscious sedation experience

  • Strong knowledge of postpartum and newborn nursing care practices

  • Ability to respond to maternal and neonatal emergencies

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to postpartum mothers and newborns in accordance with clinical protocols

  • Monitor maternal and neonatal vital signs and assess for complications

  • Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments safely and accurately

  • Perform IV insertions, phlebotomy, and assist with procedures requiring conscious sedation

  • Educate patients and families on postpartum care, newborn care, and discharge planning

  • Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, and multidisciplinary care teams

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements
