Physician Assistant - Nurse Practioner
Job Summary
Assists physician in all aspects of patient care, including examining patients, compiling medical data, administering or ordering diagnostic tests, and interpreting test results, referring unusual findings to the supervising physician. Performs therapeutic duties such as injections, wound care, immunizations and managing infection. May make diagnoses, dispense medication, and assist physician in procedures. Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Minimum QualificationsNYS licensed/registered NP or PA required (NYS NP specialty area of certification must be consistent with practice). Must have NPI number and be Medicare Enrolled with Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) OR be eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire (eligibility criteria for NP requires National Certification through AANP or ANCC, and Master's Degree) (eligibility criteria for PA requires graduation from an accredited PA program and National Certification through NCCPA).
Initial certification must be present or obtained within 6 months of hire. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required.
Prior experience working in an Emergency Department.
