Salary: $25.00/Hour Per Board Approved Non-Unit Rate Sheet
Bargaining Unit ( for contracts): Non-Unit

Report Times: Varies
Daily Hours: 7
Work Year: Per Diem
Supervisor: District Medical Director

Civil Service Title: School Nurse

Minimum Requirements:
Possession of a current New York State License as a Registered Nurse.

Desired Qualifications:
Three (3) years of acute care;
School health or pediatric experience preferred;
Strong leadership skills and ability to work independently;
Ability to work with students and parents;
Strong interpersonal skills;
Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task.


Position Summary/Responsibilities:
Provides first aid and emergency treatment of injuries and illness of students and staff;
Dispenses prescription medication and/or treatments as ordered by students' physician and requested by parents;
Maintains and updates cumulative health records for all students in school;
Records health data;
Calculates and maintains attendance records;
Notifies parents in the event of a student illness;
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
