Description:

The Special Events Intern will support the Director of Special Events in the planning and execution of YAI’s fundraising initiatives, including the organization’s signature event, the Central Park Challenge, as well as other YAI events. Responsibilities include assisting with small event coordination, supply and inventory management, and contributing to the Street Team initiative to promote YAI’s mission and events.

Job Duties:

  • Assist with event logistics, including planning, setup, and on-site support.

  • Manage event supplies and maintain accurate inventory records.

  • Support the Street Team initiative by helping coordinate outreach and promotional activities.

  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Special Events as needed.

  • Contribute creative ideas to enhance event visibility and participant engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Experience hosting events, fundraisers, or related activities.

  • Strong interest in supporting a community of diverse abilities, passions, and communication styles.

  • Ability to work independently while taking direction and feedback.

  • Enthusiasm, reliability, and strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs.
