Overview

Stephanie Ruskay for State Assembly is seeking a Field Director for the State Assembly in the Upper West Side of NYC. The Field Director will have experience in voter outreach operations, strategic targeting, and recruiting and retaining a dedicated team.

SALARY: $5,000-5,500 / Monthly

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Campaign

• Monitor all direct voter contact (canvass, phone, and text banking) to reach specific goals.
• Recruit and oversee volunteers and build and manage an intern/fellow program to reach campaign metrics.
• Track and monitor all possible endorsing allied organizations. The Field Director will assist the campaign manager in scheduling and completing endorsements and plan ways to engage these organizations in voter outreach.
• Work closely with the Campaign Manager to plan constituency events that will garner earned media and highlight the candidate’s stance on important issues.
• Provide regular qualitative and quantitative reports on the field program.
• Knowledge of and experience conducting petitioning operations in NYC is a plus.

• Knowledge of New York City politics
• Campaign experience (1 - 2 campaign cycles)
• Ability to effectively lead and motivate a team
• Strong writing and speaking skills
• Ability to problem-solve independently and take creative approaches to meeting goals
• Leadership experience, team-building skills, and team investment strategies
• Computer proficiency (including but not limited to: VAN, Microsoft Word and Excel, and Google Suite)
• Must be able to work campaign hours as well as nights and weekends as needed
