Senior Major Gifts Officer

A leading New York City cultural institution is seeking a Senior Major Gifts Officer to support the growth of its major donor program, raising approximately $10M annually. This role manages a portfolio of high-capacity donors and prospects and securing six and seven figure gifts.

• Manage a portfolio of ~150 high-net-worth households with capacity for $25K+ annual gifts and $1M+ capital gift
• Conduct 60–80+ in-person donor meetings annually to cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts
• Secure six and seven-figure major, restricted, and campaign gifts
• Develop tailored fundraising strategies, proposals, and donor communications
• Identify and qualify new prospects in partnership with prospect research
• Track donor activity accurately in Raiser’s Edge
• Represent the organization at donor events and engagements, including evenings

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
• 8–10+ years of fundraising experience
• Proven success closing 5-, 6-, and 7-figure gifts
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM
• Strategic, collaborative, and results-driven
• NYC philanthropic and cultural institution experience strongly preferred
