Womankind uses the multidimensionality of our Asian heritage to work alongside survivors of gender-based violence as they build a path to healing. Through our programs, we offer access to a safe place to live, counseling, legal assistance, wellness activities, and so much more. Womankind is an expert in serving Asian communities, yet our services are valuable and available to all. Whether in our services or in our increasing advocacy and policy work, Womankind first centers the survivors by uplifting them to control their own lives and narratives.
In addition to promoting healing and safety through service provision, Womankind promotes gender justice through research, coalition building, policy analysis, and community education and mobilization.
Womankind's Pathways to Healing (P2H) Program is a holistic wellness program using various culturally-based modalities to heal trauma; reconnect the mind, body and spirit; and foster togetherness. The P2H program is a cross-team and interdisciplinary effort consisting of advocates, wellness practitioners, volunteers, and managers. Each plays a vital role in helping to ensure the flow and success of P2H at every session of every cycle.
The Wellness Group Supporter is a hands-on role that involves more micro-level work. This role’s effectiveness is tied into having a collaborative spirit and prioritizing strong teamwork. This includes working together with staff across Client Services to carry out various projects and events that meet and elevate the voices of the survivors we work alongside.
