Job DescriptionThe Development Manager will report to the Director of Development and Outreach and will develop, implement, and manage a pipeline of leadership level donors while also managing fundraising campaigns for special projects and one‑time funding initiatives. The Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting donors and contributing to the fundraising goals of the Development Department.
Responsibilities- Work with and provide support to the Director of Development and Outreach in fundraising planning, prospect research, solicitation, and donor management
- Assist in developing campaign and program cases for support including creating print, electronic, and proposal materials
- Manage a pipeline of prospects, conduct donor meetings and implement personalized strategies to meet the Department’s annual and long‑term fundraising targets
- Help coordinate AGBU Opportunity Fund (annual fund) renewals and lapsed donor solicitations
- Research new potential funding sources, including non‑donor alumni, corporations, foundations, and prospects identified by volunteers and board members
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers to assist with fundraising initiatives, ensuring meaningful engagement and effective participation
- Secure sponsor ships for major AGBU events, including the organization’s major events AGBU FOCUS and AGBU General Assembly
- Collaborate with colleagues to implement stewardship and donor relations strategies that strengthen long‑term donor engagement and build lasting relationships
Help maintain constituent database by updating records with relevant record updates and prospect and donor information - Assist with additional fundraising activities as needed at the direction of the Director
- Skills/Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 6-8 years of fundraising experience with a broad understanding of development activities including, annual giving, special project fundraising, and gift planning
- Proven success in soliciting and securing gifts
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Able to work independently while also contributing collaboratively as part of a team
- Comfortable engaging and presenting with volunteers, board members, senior staff, and colleagues
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Team player
- Takes initiative and proposes new ideas
- Professional, energetic, and enthusiastic demeanor
- Experience with constituent databases or customer relationship management (CRM) systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Demonstrates discretion and respect for confidential and sensitive information
- Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills in English;
Knowledge of Armenian a plus - Occasional evenings or travel may be required
- United States citizenship or residency required
$85,000 - $95,000 per year
