Health Resource Coordinator (HRC) – WIC Community Outreach

Status: Full-Time | Grant-Funded (Temporary)
Schedule: 35 Hours per Week | Typically Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Salary:$24–$26 per hour (based on credentials and experience)
Location: Queens, NY (Travel Throughout Borough Required)
Queens Community House (QCH) is a multi-site, multi-service settlement house serving the diverse communities of Queens. We provide a broad network of programs for Children and Young Adults, Adults and Families, and Older Adults.
As a modern interpretation of the traditional settlement house, we bring current best practices, innovative leadership, cost-effective management, and a passion for social and economic justice to our work. Each year, QCH serves approximately 25,000 residents across neighborhoods throughout Queens.
About Queens Childcare Network (QCCN)Queens Childcare Network (QCCN) works with licensed family-based childcare providers throughout Queens and partners with NYC DOE, Family Child Care Networks (FCCN), schools, and community-based organizations.
Through funding from the WIC Community Innovation and Outreach (WIC CIAO) initiative, QCCN is expanding its outreach to WIC-eligible parents of children age 5 and younger. This initiative supports empowerment, education, and increased access to WIC resources through in-person events and virtual workshops.
Position OverviewThe Health Resource Coordinator (HRC) will lead community engagement and program management efforts under the WIC CIAO initiative. This is a metric-driven role reporting directly to the QCH Childcare Network Director.
This is a full-time, grant-funded temporary position
, with potential for future funding or internal transfer opportunities.
- Conduct community outreach to engage WIC-eligible parents and key stakeholders
- Organize WIC Ambassador trainings and monthly meetings
- Maintain accurate contact information for WIC inquiries and referrals
- Assist families with referrals and non-emergency parenting guidance
- Conduct WIC pre-screenings to determine eligibility
- Provide approved referrals and family wellness resources
- Host in-person workshops, baby showers, and educational events
- Coordinate and/or facilitate WIC-related webinars (English and Spanish or other language)
- Implement WIC surveys and collect data to measure program impact
- Maintain accurate, measurable data tracking and reporting
- Provide verbal and written translation as needed
- Participate in all required QCH, QCCN, and WIC meetings
- Support the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) through monthly compliance visits to licensed family-based childcare programs
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the QCCN Director
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Human Services, Sociology, or related field OR
- Two (2)+ years of experience in project management, public health, education, or human services
- Familiarity with and/or participation in the WIC Program
- Experience in data collection and metric-driven community outreach
- Ability to travel efficiently throughout Queens (mass transit or car)
- Strong time management, written, and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented, flexible, and able to multitask
- Strong professional judgment and interpersonal skills
- Experience in community outreach and resource awareness
- Cultural sensitivity when working with marginalized families
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Teams, Zoom, Google Docs
- Experience creating and utilizing Microsoft Forms for data collection
- Bilingual Spanish (required) – fluent reading, writing, and speaking
- NYC DOE PETS Clearance
- Monday–Friday, 35 hours per week
- Typically 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Evenings and weekends as needed
- Flexible scheduling with advance approval from Network Director
