Hispanic Federation’s Economic Empowerment program focuses on creating a strong foundation to increase the financial health of Latino communities. Through culturally relevant community-focused workshops and events, non-profit capacity building and programmatic grantmaking, the Economic Empowerment program aims to educate individuals and families on financial foundational best practices, create opportunities for economic mobility, and advocate for financial resiliency. Since inception, the program has worked to positively impact communities in New York City and has grown to include communities across the United States and in Puerto Rico.

We Seek

Hispanic Federation seeks a motivated Economic Empowerment Program Manager who will be responsible for the operations of HF’s Economic Empowerment programmatic and advocacy efforts. Through the manager’s oversight, the program aims to increase the financial security of Latino families. The Program Manager reports to HF’s Director for Economic Empowerment and works to support and expand the organization’s economic empowerment portfolio. The portfolio includes HF’s signature financial education series, small business resiliency initiatives, economic mobility campaigns, and advocacy for financial resilience.

In addition, the Economic Empowerment Program Manager will support HF’s workforce and digital equity initiatives and HF’s public policy priorities.

The successful candidate has experience working with communities of color and providing culturally competent educational workshops and community events. The program manager will gain exposure to diverse program areas providing services to the communities that HF serves. This position is also responsible for reporting to the director and internal departments on the program’s progress and outcomes.

The position is a hybrid role and will require a minimum of ten (10) days onsite a month.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create a calendar of community events and facilitate and oversee community workshops around financial literacy, small business support and other economic empowerment subject matters both in person and virtually.
  • Update and refresh existing material and curricula in a culturally relevant manner that is curated for specific audiences.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and government agencies to promote community education initiatives.
  • Oversee community programs and events in conjunction with HF internal departments and network of member agencies.
  • Track expenses with designated program budgets, ensure reporting for expenses are up-to-date and accurate with all supporting documentation.
  • Collect and manage data for program outcomes and outputs, support in the drafting of narrative for testimony for public policy or with programmatic fundraising efforts.
  • Support in program administration responsibilities, including leading grantee check-ins, reports and document collection and review, contracting and payment requests.
  • Support economic empowerment initiatives across HF's offices, including working closely with workforce development and digital skilling programs, as well as health, education and community engagement to enact a holistic economic mobility framework.
