Note:
Candidates selected to advance will have extensive experience, relationships, and deep knowledge of Eastern Oregon along with the required experience and core competencies outlined for the role. Strong familiarity with the region’s unique economic drivers, community priorities, and rural landscape is essential for success in this position.
The selected candidate must live within a commutable distance from OCF’s Eastern Oregon office in Baker City.

The Associate Philanthropic Advisor (APhAd) works in coordination with the Director of Philanthropy (DoP) and the Regional Director & Philanthropic Advisor (RD) for Central and Oregon to expand familiarity with the work carried out by OCF in Baker, Grant, Harney, Malheur, Morrow, Umatilla, Union and Wallowa Counties and Burns Paiute Tribe and Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation. Partnering with OCF Colleagues, this position will perform strategic community outreach and cultivate and steward relationships with donors, prospective donors, nonprofit partners and professional advisors, volunteers and community leaders.
A:Development
Percentage of Time: 75%
- Work with DoP and RD to develop an innovative, proactive approach to attract, build relationships with, and engage with donors and prospective donors, including potential nonprofit endowment partners, to educate them about charitable options and create donor-centered gift plans to reach their philanthropic goals in a manner consistent with OCF’s policies
- In consultation with DoP and RD, build and manage cultivation and stewardship plans to support existing expectancy donors
- As needed, partner with Donor Relations Officer for Central and Eastern OR to help with stewardship of existing donor advised fund relationships in the Eastern Oregon region
- With assistance from colleagues, develop and maintain contact and communication with the region’s financial and legal professionals regarding current and planned giving opportunities available through OCF
- Proactively learn about current federal and state tax policy matters that relate to OCF’s planned giving activities and advise on recent changes to these policies
- Plan and lead regional events–including public speaking where appropriate–to support prospective and existing donor engagement
- Engage in special projects as assigned
- Document relationship management steps and events

- In collaboration with the DoP and RD and through consultation with regional relationship managers, initiate and support designated regional outreach activities
- In consultation with DoP and RD, engage, manage, and steward the regional OCF board member, as necessary
- As assigned and depending on region, lead or support recruiting, nominating, orienting, and stewarding Leadership Council members and assist with planning and carrying out Council meetings along with members of staff team and regional board member
