To older adults through DOROT’s Passover Package Delivery!
As a Package Delivery volunteer, you can make a meaningful connection with an older neighbor through a social visit or phone call and a care package. While holidays can increase feelings of loneliness or isolation, volunteering for Passover Package Delivery creates shared connections and community.
The program is called Package Delivery, but we like to say that it’s really “not about the package” It’s about the connections you make—for volunteers and recipients alike. Deliveries take place in Manhattan on the East side and Upper West Side, and in Westchester county.
Here’s How it Works- Register!
- Pick up a package and get matched with an older adult
- Deliver the package to the home of an older adult
- Stay for a social visit or follow up with a friendly phone call
DOROT welcomes people of all faiths, backgrounds, and identities as both volunteers and older adult participants. Package Delivery volunteers need to be at least 18 years old.
Can We Volunteer as a Family?Families with children age 10 and older are welcome to volunteer together.
Time CommitmentOne-time commitment of about 90 minutes.
RequirementsVolunteers over the age of 18 must have a valid, US government‑issued photo watch a short online orientation.

Sign up for the Package Delivery as a group. The minimum group size is 12 participants, and all must be age 18+. Fill out this form to sign up as a group.
Group Volunteer in WestchesterPopulation served includes animals, families, immigrants, refugees or ethnic groups, LGBT communities, low‑income communities, military/veterans, people with disabilities, people with health‑based concerns.
