What You'll Do
As an Educational Aide, you’ll support an after-school and summer camp program for children living in homeless shelters and low-income permanent housing.
Your responsibilities will include:Assist with all daily lessons and activities, including sports and recreation, educational support, and arts and crafts.
Ensuring that the program room and spaces are kept neat and orderly.
Engaging in outreach activities to ensure attendance and participation.
Maintaining an atmosphere of consistency and fairness in which all children and staff cooperate.
Resolving conflict within your group, seeking assistance from other staff, supervisors, and directors when necessary.
You're a great fit for this role if you have:High School Diploma or equivalent OR equivalent experience and skills.
Proficiency in English and Math skills.
Commitment to working with youth from a variety of backgrounds and providing high-quality services.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
HoursThis is a part-time job, 3:00 pm-7:00 pm Monday-Friday.
CompensationActual compensation will not be less than the applicable minimum wage, prevailing wage, or exempt salary requirements under federal, state and local laws.
