Overview

The Fundraising, Prospect Research & Administrative Consultant is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and organizing potential funders, researching donor prospects, and supporting clients in developing and executing fundraising strategies. This role involves conducting in-depth donor research, managing outreach and engagement efforts, preparing fundraising materials, and providing administrative and strategic support to ensure the success of client fundraising initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prospect Research & Fundraising
    • Research, identify, evaluate, and organize prospective donors, including individuals, corporations, foundations, and government entities.
    • Analyze financial records, donor databases, and other data sources to produce detailed prospect briefings.
    • Develop and implement fundraising strategies aligned with client goals and financial targets.
    • Prepare compelling pitch decks, donor briefings, solicitation strategies, grant applications, and fundraising materials.
    • Manage outreach, follow-up, and engagement efforts to secure new and incremental funding.
    • Track and analyze donor engagement and fundraising performance, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Donor Relations & Engagement
    • Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential donors through effective communication and engagement strategies.
    • Schedule and conduct meetings with donors to cultivate partnerships and secure commitments.
    • Oversee the writing and presentation of proposals to new and existing funding partners.
    • Demonstrate strong networking capabilities and establish connections with corporate and private sector stakeholders.
  • Administrative & Operational Support
    • Provide administrative support for fundraising initiatives, including scheduling meetings, drafting correspondence, and maintaining donor databases.
    • Ensure accurate and timely record-keeping of donor engagement and fundraising progress.
    • Assist in organizing meetings, preparing agendas, and maintaining electronic records.
    • Support operational tasks to ensure seamless execution of client projects.
    • Exhibit professional communication skills via phone, email, and written correspondence.
  • Collaboration & Reporting
    • Work closely with fundraising consultants, project leads, and key team members on client accounts to ensure successful fundraising outcomes.
    • Prepare and submit detailed reports outlining fundraising activities, donor engagements, and progress toward financial targets.
    • Support the development and implementation of organization-wide fundraising oversight, monitoring, and coordination strategies.
    • Participate in internal team meetings, training sessions, and strategic planning discussions to enhance overall fundraising efforts.
    • Attend "Disrupters" meetings, BPC internal team meetings, and client fundraising strategy sessions as required.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Proven experience in fundraising, donor research, nonprofit development, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to research, evaluate, and organize donor information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proposal writing and donor engagement.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in donor databases, CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and research tools.
  • Experience in strategic planning, goal setting, and performance evaluation for fundraising initiatives.

  • Growth in donor engagement and funding commitments secured.
  • Accuracy, depth, and effectiveness of prospect research and reports.
  • Timeliness and quality of fundraising strategies, proposals, and donor briefings.
  • Contribution to strategic planning, process improvements, and overall fundraising effectiveness
