Job Overview / Summary

The Manager, Principal Giving East will play an integral role in supporting the Principal Giving East team within the Philanthropy team. They will help guide distinct portfolios of high‑net‑worth donors and prospects and will act in very close collaboration with Principal Giving Officers and leadership to track progress on and implement strategy for some of our most valuable donor relationships. The Manager will work with assigned Principal Giving Officer(s) to support the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship for a defined portfolio of IRC prospects and donors.

Major Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with assigned Principal Giving Officer(s) to implement strategies for high‑net‑worth individual donors and prospects within donor portfolios, bringing in critical revenue for the organization;
  • Draft correspondence that support the Officer’s interactions with portfolio donors or prospects, including general and targeted communications such as letters and contact reports;
  • Coordinate with relevant internal teams to develop communications that support donor strategy such as concept notes, proposals, presentations and reports, from drafts through to final line‑editing and formatting of finalized material;
  • Prepare materials, agendas, and briefings for external prospect and donor meetings, and for internal strategy meetings;
  • With the Officer(s), assess expectations and objectives for each donor and prospect within the portfolio, including adhering to stewardship plans and strategies;
  • With the Officer(s), act as the liaison between donors or prospects and field staff, ensuring both parties receive the most critical information and that it is communicated clearly and strategically reflective of its audience;
  • Collaborate closely with Prospect Research and Management teams as well as Analytics and operations staff to co‑lead and track the entire donor cycle for Principal Giving;
  • Update the donor database (Salesforce) to maintain portfolio assignments, draft and update giving proposals, request prospect research, monitor report requirements and submissions, track ongoing donor communication and activity as well as additional relationship management duties;
  • Manage information flows between donors and prospects, program staff and Officer(s);

    Lead and track the internal drafting and approval processes necessary for proposals, reports, and budgets;
  • Support the payments for bank transactions. Ensure completeness of payment documents in compliance with IRC and Donor policies and procedures;
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues and IRC program/support staff globally;
  • Undertake special projects as advised.
Job Requirements Work Experience

Minimum 3 years previous work experience, preferably gained in a development or fundraising team, non‑profit, marketing, or sales team.

Proven Skills and Proficiencies
  • Ability to meet deadlines with quality products;
  • Strong communications skills including oral, written and presentation skills;
  • Well‑developed project management skills with the ability to work on own initiative, accurately to tight deadlines, and to prioritize between conflicting demands;
