JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Opportunity
In just under two years, the Youth Team @ Strategic Victory Fund has incubated and scaled programming reaching young voters that has:
- Had an in‑person footprint on over 150 campuses in battleground states
- Hired and trained nearly 200 full‑time staffers and 1,800 part‑time student staffers
- Developed over 100 student‑focused social media accounts
- Reached nearly 6 million voters online, over 300m times
As we look to 2026, we’re continuing to support and evolve programming with our existing partners, while continuing to innovate and incubate new programming that will drive record Gen Z turnout in 2026 and 2028 elections. Politics is an exercise in addition— it’s not enough to just defend our campuses. We need to win the fight for Gen‑Z writ‑large.
We’re launching the Gen Z Fight Fund to drive investments into programs and projects that will transform Gen Z. In 2026, we will work with partners and funders to support or incubate programming that includes:
- High School Engagement: The last place where we can reach young people in one place if they’re not on a college track (and where groups like Turning Point USA are expanding at a rapid clip)
- Media + Culture: Creating content that sets the conditions for young people to support progressive values
- Constituency Organizing: Working at a local or constituency level to engage young voters including youth in labor, BIPOC youth, and young parents
- Making Existing Youth Contacts Better: Most youth engagement happens inside of larger canvass, phone, mail, and text programs. We’ll work with programs to improve their efficacy in reaching Gen Z
- Grasstops Organizing: Helping electeds and progressive leaders better understand how to reach, persuade, and mobilize Gen Z
The Role:
Strategic Victory Fund seeks a Director, Gen Z Fight Fund to build and lead a new function: a grantmaking fund + a learning community + an incubation shop. You will develop the strategy, build the systems, deploy investments, and create the external presence that makes the Fund a magnet for top partners, funders, and emerging leaders.
This is a builder role. You will set a clear thesis for what wins Gen Z and move resources to the leaders and programs most likely to deliver impact.
What You’ll Do
- Build the Fund
- Design and execute the Gen Z Fight Fund in partnership with senior SVF leadership
- Develop clear evaluation frameworks and reporting rhythms that support learning and accountability
- Source, pick, and strengthen partners
- Identify and recruit young leaders and emerging programs, as well as high‑leverage opportunities within established organizations
- Deploy four‑ to seven‑figure investments, then actively support partners toward measurable progress
- Help grantees troubleshoot real challenges (strategy, hiring, measurement, creative/digital, field execution) by connecting them to resources and experts
- Build a learning community and accelerate performance
- Create a training and convening program that connects grantees to one another and to tools, best practices, and operators
- Facilitate peer learning so wins travel fast and failures become lessons – not repeated mistakes
- Be a thought leader and develop an external profile
- Develop research‑backed memos, decks, and briefs that guide priority investment areas and share our learnings
- Represent the Gen Z Fight Fund externally – building credibility with partners and funders and positioning the Fund as a thought leader in youth engagement
We’re looking for someone who can both set the direction and build the machine. You should have:
- Demonstrated expertise in mobilizing Gen Z (and/or persuading young people) in real‑world conditions
- Extensive experiences in at least one of the following areas, with a comfort engaging with the rest: program…
