Food Rescue Driver at Sharing Excess (

Drivers assist in picking up surplus, soon‑to‑expire, or donated food items, loading them into the XL Sprinter Van and delivering them to partnered community organizations. The role includes weighing, categorizing, and recording donations in the custom app, and ensuring compliance with food safety protocols.

• Arrive at designated food businesses on time following routes assigned by Sharing Excess coordinators.
• Weigh, categorize, and hand‑load boxes into the van, judging food quality and safety.
• Input data into the Sharing Excess App.
• Drive to the partnered organization and inform the point of contact upon arrival.
• Help unload boxes and complete pickup reports via the app.

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver's license without restrictions.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Access to a smartphone.
• Good vision, hearing, and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal communication.
• Excellent customer service.
• Time management skills.
• Ability to follow food safety and preservation rules.
• Interest in non‑profit/social justice work strongly preferred.
