Reports To: Director of Youth Services
Classification: Full-Time | Non-Exempt
Salary & Benefits: $60,000 to $65,000. Schedule: Generally Monday through Friday. Work days and hours may shift depending on scheduling needs; typical schedule will be 11:30 am to 7:30 pm. Some weekend hours may be required periodically; flexibility required. This position is classified as a hybrid role with a minimum of 4 days onsite per week, with Thursdays as a staff‑wide in‑office day.
SummaryThe Youth Community Engagement Coordinator responsibilities include supporting and managing youth coalition work while implementing and delivering services to engage community members in addition to organizing outreach efforts and strategies for The Center’s range of youth substance use services and providing case management support as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Work one‑on‑one with youth and young adult community members to promote holistic support in safety, wellbeing, housing support, supportive gender care, and benefits system navigation through comprehensive case management services.
- Coordinate the planning and implementation of coalition deliverables including facilitating monthly coalition meetings and coalition related events, activities and documentation in compliance with DOHMH Deliverable guidelines.
- Develop new and reinforce existing relationships with prospective coalition members and stakeholders to ensure the coalition is inclusive of all required sectors while maintaining communication with coalition partners regarding progress and coalition updates.
- Coordinate and implement community outreach strategies to engage youth and young adults in the range of Center Youth programming, including participation in community outreach events and citywide Pride‑related outreach activities.
- Provide supervision to the part‑time Youth Substance Use Peer Outreach Specialist, including weekly check‑ins, group planning around coalition activities, outreach planning and strategies.
- Maintain and update a list of relevant program referral resources and support access to community resources through direct youth support and the provision of relevant resource information to the Center Youth team.
- Support the facilitation and implementation of Center Youth drop‑in activities including drop‑in group facilitation and general coverage needs, along with related documentation in Salesforce database.
- Provide care management that facilitates, coordinates and documents participant‑centered care for participants across Center teams and departments to better address multiple and co‑occurring concerns.
- Provide cross coverage for other behavioral health program unit tasks, duties and populations.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent lived, professional and/or educational experience.
- Two (2) to four (4) years of experience is required and success in the provision of coalition building and oversight, case management, mental health, community, and social services support.
- Bilingual or multilingual, a plus. Language preferences:
Spanish, Bengali, Russian, and/or French‑Creole. - Previous trauma‑informed support experience in working with individuals who are survivors of crimes and their families, including survivors of intimate partner violence, hate crimes and violent crimes.
- Knowledge of behavioral health resources in the greater New York City area and treatment regulations and programs.
- Excellent administrative, organization, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a wide range of work styles and cultural backgrounds.
- Detail‑oriented and ability to handle multiple tasks at once.
