LocationEuro Capital Properties' offices are located in mid-town Manhattan in the heart of New York City. The Watergate Hotel is centrally located in Washington, D.C., a city of political power, prestige, and elegance is culturally rich with theaters, museums, architectural splendors, and unforgettable national memorials. Onsite-this position reports to the New York office 4+ days a week.
Strategic IntentThe Head of Marketing & Communications is responsible for managing and maintain property website; planning and executing media strategy within budget levels; coordinating social media efforts; developing internal marketing communications; coordinating e-marketing efforts; maintaining multiple event calendars; and communicating with internal departments to develop a weekly activity guide.
Organizational StructureThe Head of Marketing & Communications will report to the Managing Director.
General Duties And ResponsibilitiesPlease note:
this position is based in our New York City headquarters. You must reside within a commutable distance to mid-town Manhattan, as there is no relocation allowance with this particular position.
- Manage the property’s website.
- Create, write, and produce original content for use on The Watergate Hotel press releases, internal communications, hotel website, hotel social media channels, etc.
- Develop and own the overall marketing and communications strategy aligned with company objectives.
- Work with property departments to ensure web sections are accurate, current, and effective.
- Execute agreed-upon direct marketing campaigns.
- Create and implement local e‑mail campaigns.
- Coordinate with agency on execution of primary direct marketing initiatives.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to support growth, positioning, and long‑term vision.
- Coordinate advertising campaigns.
- Facilitate the tracking and reporting of all marketing expenditures.
- Managing all social media channels, to include but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Foursquare, and Google+.
- Manage proactive posting of management response to sites such as Trip Advisor.
- Manage marketing budgets, forecasts, and ROI reporting.
- Coordinate agreed‑upon public relations activities, including press visits and events with outside agencies.
- Coordinate marketing and PR related to special events.
- Monitor market trends, customer insights, and competitor activity.
- Act as the primary point of contact for agencies, media partners, and vendors.
- Oversee the hotel’s databases, ensuring PMS, dining, and spa data is integrated.
- Own and protect the brand identity, voice, and messaging across all platforms.
- Lead external communications, including PR, media relations, thought leadership, and crisis communication.
- Ensure consistent messaging across digital, print, events, and partnerships.
- Present a positive company image through all phases of public and/or customer interaction.
- Interface positively with other departments, offering assistance when needed.
- Define KPIs and measure performance across campaigns and channels.
- Use data and insights to continuously improve marketing effectiveness.
- Report results and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Other reasonable projects and duties as assigned.
- 4+ years of direct, related experience in a similar position with a luxury hotel company is required. Those without direct, related experience may be considered with 6+ years of progressive experience in luxury hotel sales, marketing and communications combined with luxury hotel operations experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field is required.
- Must possess superior communications and presentation skills, with fluency in English required. Those with bilingual abilities will be preferred.
- Must have prior experience writing original copy, press releases, and other media content for hospitality-related use.
- Must possess superior social media savvy and the proven ability to drive creative and memorable social media campaigns.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate all business directives and goals.
- Must possess superior multitasking and organizational skills.
- Must be able to present oneself with a professional, poised, and uplifting persona reflective of The Watergate Hotel standards at all times.
