Role: Senior Social Media Manager
Location: New York, NY
About the roleOLIVER is seeking a qualified Senior Social Media Manager to join our dynamic ice cream team, with in‑person participation required. We are looking for a tech‑savvy professional who can provide strategic thought leadership in social and brand management, with a strong emphasis on community engagement and content creation management. People‑management skills are also essential for success in this role.
The ideal candidate will have experience in social media, video, imagery, strategy, data analytics, and marketing campaigns. Exceptional oral and written communication skills are a must, along with the ability to develop engaging content. You should be a natural communicator with excellent customer service capabilities and the ability to moderate both online and offline interactions with our community. This position will be based in the NY/NJ area as in‑person participation is required.
Whatyou will be doing
- Develop social media content calendars and campaigns for well‑known brands in the ice cream space
- Work with our in‑house creative teams to create engaging video, copy and photography assets for social media channels
- Design social assets using Canva, Cap Cut (design work is light)
- Compile comprehensive analytical reports with recommendations for owned channels and campaigns
- Coordinate with Marketing, PR and Communications teams to ensure brand consistency
- Liaise with the brand to stay updated on new products and features
- Oversee high‑profile partnership logistics including strategy and execution
- Increase knowledge on how to navigate controversial topics responsibly; understand PR risks and opportunities associated with these stances
- Apply a SWOT analysis to every initiative
- Interpret partnership briefs and legal documents related to channel assets and usage
- Advise the brand team on how to utilize partners across social media and measure success
- Manage a large community in real‑time, ensuring efficient communication flow
- Serve as a liaison between the brand team and key stakeholders, filtering necessary information for the wider group
- Provide counsel on best practices and emerging channels for the brand team
- Track record of increasing brand affinity through social‑led opportunities and trends
- Experience with high‑profile legacy brands focused on engagement over awareness
- Represent social within the larger IAT, aligning with overall brand strategies
- Spearhead social planning for the following year, adapting to shifting brand priorities
- Leverage a basic creative background for planning and ideation of content and big ideas; lead the creative team to deliver aligned work
- Assess available creative assets and proactively recommend new ones
- 3‑4 years of experience in an advertising and/or public relations agency
- Background working with high‑profile brands
- Experience in client relations and the ability to adapt to different personalities and work styles
- Proven experience growing and managing a social community
- Experience launching community initiatives (e.g., online forum, ambassador program, event series, email newsletter)
- Experience creating and managing social content calendars
- Ability to perform light design work
- Skill in identifying and tracking relevant qualitative metrics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
