Manager, Digital Strategy, North America – Universal Music Group

About the Role

We are seeking a Manager, Digital Strategy, North America based in either New York, NY or Beverly Hills, CA. The Manager will lead digital marketing partnership, promotion and innovation initiatives, collaborating with social media, metaverse, gaming and other digital platforms to create opportunities for UMG’s roster and catalog. The role includes advising artists and label partners on overall digital marketing strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Strategize, pitch, and secure artist partnership opportunities with social media platforms (Tik Tok, Meta, Snap, Discord, X, etc.) and digital content channels/outlets.
  • Strategize and project manage partnership opportunities with platforms in video game and metaverse spaces.
  • Network and expand UMG’s roster of innovative, forward‑thinking partners in digital spaces.
  • Ideate and execute digital promotions and contesting initiatives for a roster of artists across Pop, Alternative, Rock, K‑Pop, Electronic, Hip‑Hop and more.
  • Monitor the wider social media and digital landscape for relevant trends, content opportunities and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal UMG departments (paid media, marketing, production, insights, promotion, commercial and program enterprises) to execute interactive strategies.
  • Author campaign decks and documents for presentation to internal teams, label and artist partners, digital partners and DSPs.
  • Liaise with third‑party vendors in the content creation, fan building and social community management marketplace.
  • Manage multiple campaigns in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Maintain professional relationships with artists, label and management partners.
  • Troubleshoot administrative and support queries across social media platforms.
  • Utilize insights from analytics platforms to assess campaign performance, amplification opportunities and measure success.
Qualifications
  • Passion for music‑focused social media, short‑form video and content marketing.
  • Affinity and cultural fluency in video game and metaverse industries.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (After Effects, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Apple iWork suites.
  • Experience with audience and social media music analysis platforms:
    Chartmetric, Co:brand, Melody

    IQ, Trendpop, You Tube Studio, Meta Business Suite, etc.
  • Must thrive in a team environment and take initiative independently.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to create case‑studies and campaign reporting decks.
  • Degree in a relevant field or equivalent career experience.
  • Music industry or artist relations experience.
