About Run-A-Muck

Run-A-Muck is a next-generation media company building original IP, platforms, and communities across entertainment, fashion, sports, and culture. We develop premium TV and film while simultaneously building across digital and new media with fully-owned, consumer-facing media brands, including Drafting, our fast-growing Substack newsletter. We believe the future of media is direct, multi-channel, and audience-first, and we’re building the growth engine to match.

The Role

We’re looking for a data-driven and creative growth strategist to lead our audience acquisition and expansion across all platforms and scale our subscriber base across social, You Tube, and newsletters. In this role, you will bridge the gap between editorial content and performance marketing, owning the strategy for acquiring new users, retaining existing ones, and optimizing the journey from "casual visitor" to "loyal subscriber/follower."

This is a hands-on growth role for someone who wants real ownership from paid media to organic distribution, experimentation, and optimization. You’ll drive subscriber growth across Substack, Tik Tok, You Tube, and Meta, etc. and run paid and multichannel marketing campaigns while helping us evolve how we think about loyalty, engagement, and long-term consumer revenue.

We’re open to contract, part-time, or full-time for the right person.

What You’ll Do
  • Own consumer growth strategy across Run-A-Muck and Drafting
  • Grow subscribers across Substack newsletters and social platforms
  • Lead and optimize paid media programs (Meta, Google, and beyond)
  • Be AI-native: use AI tools to improve testing, insights, workflows, and performance
  • Define and track growth KPIs (subscribers, engagement, CAC, retention)
  • Partner closely with editorial and platform leads to align content + distribution
  • Build for loyalty and long-term value, not just top-of-funnel growth
Who You Are
  • 4–8 years experience in growth, audience development, or consumer marketing
  • Proven track record growing subscribers or users in media, content, or subscriptions, with experience launching a new vertical or media product from scratch.
  • Strong paid media experience across platforms, and deep knowledge of the podcasting/vodcasting and newsletter ecosystems
  • Data-driven, experimental, and comfortable moving fast
  • AI-native mindset, excited by new tools and workflows
  • Builder mentality, comfortable without a big team
  • Passionate about culture, media, and building something early
Why This Role
  • Real ownership over growth at a modern media company
  • Direct impact on audience, brand, and future revenue
  • Flexible structure (FT or PT)
  • Work closely with senior creative and media leadership
