OverviewThe Account Supervisor is the brand champion who provides strategic input, tactical planning, and direction on assigned accounts. This role has direct management responsibilities, supervising junior account staff to implement plans in a timely, effective, and profitable manner, building and maintaining lasting client relationships, and ensuring high‑quality agency output.
Responsibilities- Agency Operations
- Drive processes and details, develop tactical plans, and forecast budgets.
- Administer client budgets based on accurate estimating, tracking hours, out‑of‑pocket expenses, and reconciliation against estimates.
- Communicate changes in client direction that affect estimates.
- Apply thorough knowledge of contracts and implications.
- Make decisions regarding hours dedicated to jobs and prioritization.
- Use financial tools necessary for account management.
- Proactively solve potential problems before they become too large, moderating conflicts and influencing management decisions.
- Take on informal leadership responsibilities within the agency.
- Provide clear and fair direction and feedback to junior account staff.
- Knowledge
- Deep, expert understanding of the therapeutic category, audience, and at least two channels; basic knowledge of at least one other category and another audience.
- Continuously learn technology.
- Apply extensive and expert knowledge of assigned brands.
- Serve as point of authority or source of advice for the therapeutic area.
- Ensure team adherence to agency process and lead problem resolution.
- Strategy
- Develop communication objectives and strategies, seeing the big picture while driving process and detail.
- Perform high‑level analysis of category, research, and competitive data.
- Extract findings/issues from all available marketing data.
- Actively participate in strategic development and demonstrate passion for the brand.
- Tactics and Execution
- Own the agency process, showing resourcefulness and thoroughness in developing tactical plans, budgets, and timelines.
- Supervise and manage the production of client‑approved marketing tools.
- Collaborate on creative brief development.
- Write and prepare marketing communications plans and proposals.
- Communicate key client issues and initiatives to the team accurately and timely.
- Think creatively and strategically in the execution of tactics.
- Client Relationship
- Build trusting relationships with client counterparts and add value as a strategic partner.
- Maintain frequent, positive client contact with key clients.
- Ensure everyone is focused on brand strategy and positioning: client, account team, and other internal departments.
- Advocate the agency point‑of‑view.
- Present complex data or messages in clear, succinct, compelling manner to clients.
- Lead role in ensuring timely, accurate client documentation and correspondence.
- 4‑6 years’ experience, ideally within a creative agency.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Familiarity with MS Access and Adobe Work Front desirable.
- Omni‑channel marketing experience.
- Strong analytical skills, commitment to a client, and proven ability to manage expectations.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding presentation skills, especially in a hybrid environment.
- Fundamental understanding of web development and social platforms.
- Candidate must be open to travel as needed.
