Backup Team Lead – Sanitation

The Sanitation Team Lead is responsible for ensuring the master cleaning schedule is followed correctly and all documentation is properly completed. The lead must ensure compliance with all personnel safety and Food Safety policies and regulations.

Job Duties
  • Oversee day-to-day site and equipment cleaning activities, supporting site sanitation on weekends.
  • Ensure safety PPE is provided and protocols are followed.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, preparation, and use of cleaning chemicals by employees.
  • Responsible for timely completion of daily and weekly sanitation checklists.
  • Responsible for hands‑on training of sanitation tasks.
  • Maintain effective communication and coordinate with other departments to ensure plant operations are performed without error.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and assign cleaning schedules and tasks.
  • Perform cycle count of sanitation supplies weekly to report to the supervisor.
  • Responsible for all applicable Company procedures and policies, including Mondelez Quality Policies.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, New York State, and other regulatory requirements to assure food safety & quality.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

  • Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain focus while performing a task.
  • Basic knowledge of computer and Microsoft applications.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Must be able to work around moving equipment.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to delegate.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to wear safety toe shoes for entire shift.
  • Must be able to stand during entire work shift of 7+ hours (not including rest and meal periods).
  • Ability to communicate in English and Spanish and possess basic reading and writing skills to effectively understand and complete work-related documents, safety protocols, and instructions.
What will your schedule look like?
  • Second shift:
    Monday through Friday 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm. Overtime as needed.
  • Third shift:
    Sunday through Thursday 10:30 pm – 7:00 am. Overtime as needed.
