Our client has been making a variety of premium chocolate products since the 1970s. Using ethically sourced, sustainable ingredients, they are best known for their Belgian chocolate treats. They are looking to add a Demand Planner to their team in Long Island, NY. You will be responsible for developing, managing, and continuously improving the demand forecasting process for a complex portfolio of chocolate candy products.
You will collaborate cross‑functionally with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Production to generate accurate forecasts that drive production planning, inventory optimization, and service level performance.
- 3+ years of demand planning for a manufacturer of a complex line of CPG products, ideally food. Relevant college degree required, APICS/CPIM preferred.
- $120‑140k base salary plus bonus

- Develop and maintain rolling forecasts (weekly/monthly) at SKU, customer, and channel levels. Present demand plans, forecast assumptions, and risk assessments to leadership.
- Manage demand planning for a large, complex SKU portfolio including seasonal items, promotional and limited‑time offerings, custom/private label products & region‑specific products. Support product lifecycle management including new product introductions (NPI), reformulations, and discontinuations.
- Incorporate historical sales data, promotional calendars, new product launches, and market intelligence into forecast models. Actively participate in Sales & Operations Planning. Partner with Sales to understand customer programs, seasonal builds, and promotions.
- Work with Marketing on product launches and other initiatives. Coordinate with Production Planning to align forecast with manufacturing and custom production requirements. Collaborate with Procurement regarding ingredient planning.
- Support inventory optimization strategies. Monitor slow‑moving, excess, and at‑risk inventory. Analyze trends and identify root causes of service failures or excess stock.
- Develop dashboards and KPIs to enhance visibility and decision‑making. Improve demand planning tools and models. Recommend process enhancements and support ERP/MRP system and data improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Finance, Statistics, or related field required. APICS/CPIM certification preferred.
- 3+ years of demand planning or forecasting experience in CPG manufacturing (food preferred).
- Experience with a large product portfolio, seasonal products, custom/private label manufacturing,
- Strong proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data modeling) and experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Net Suite, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) required.
- Experience with demand planning software (e.g., Anaplan, Kinaxis, Logility, SAP IBP, etc.) preferred.
- Strong analytical and statistical forecasting capabilities.
