Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
A growing manufacturer is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support production and facility operations through preventive maintenance, advanced troubleshooting, and equipment reliability improvements. This is a hands-on role critical to minimizing downtime and maintaining safe, efficient plant performance.
Responsibilities- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and processing machinery
- Read and apply blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
- Maintain refrigeration and utility systems including compressors, pumps, condensers, heat exchangers, ammonia and Freon systems
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement countermeasures
- Support parts ordering and maintenance inventory control
- Perform minor facility and grounds maintenance
- Complete safety checklists and uphold strict safety standards
- Identify and recommend continuous improvement opportunities
- Support workflow direction when equipment output impacts production
- 6-8+ years of industrial maintenance experience
- One recognized maintenance certification (electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, or reliability)
- Ability to perform electrical and electronic systems maintenance independently
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and safety procedures
- Multiple maintenance or technical certifications
- PLC certification
- Advanced refrigeration certification
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong safety mindset
- High mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Fast problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to remain alert and responsive in production environments
