Team Leads are responsible for assisting management in running the production floor efficiently and effectively, while successively meeting Fresh Direct’s standards of Quality, Food Safety, and Employee Health & Safety.
Responsibilities and Working Conditions- Follow through and ensure compliance with:
Food Safety & Sanitation procedures (GMPs), Safety (EH&S), Manufacturing/Production procedures, and Fresh Direct’s mission, the 5 pillars. - Ensure that the work area is safe, clean, and organized for all team members to work.
- Ensure accuracy of all order fulfillment, processing, and production requirements in Department/shift.
- Collaborate with Supervisor and/or Manager to resolve issues related to production.
- Report all employee concerns and accidents to management.
- Offer suggestions on how to change and/or make production more efficient and effective.
- Support and participate in various company projects, initiatives, and programs as needed.
- Lead teams on a day-to-day basis, handling day-to-day routine employee issues which include employee concerns, conflicts among team members, etc.
- Coaching and training hourly employees to support production matrixes and standards of continued excellence.
- Manage relevant attendance, reassigning as necessary to fill gaps in the team.
- Create Operating Plans from the schedules provided by Management.
- Ensure that Departmental plans/goals are achieved, troubleshooting as necessary and escalating issues to the manager if necessary.
- Support Food Safety and Health & Safety Initiatives throughout the Department.
- Follow up on key action items for the team and ensure that Food and Employee Safety is always the First Priority.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- In a work day: standing/walking 6-10 hours or more.
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
- Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
- Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
