Job SummaryDuties performed under the general supervision of the Quality Engineering Supervisor. Perform inspections to ensure product conformance to specifications. Work closely with production and quality engineering. Responsible for performing a variety of clerical and other quality‑related functions. Assignments can range from routine daily/weekly/monthly tasks to special data collection, analysis, and reporting. All functions of this position are conducted in a professional manner.
Pay $60,000 - $65,000 year
Specific Duties / Essential Functions- Perform incoming, in-process, final, and outgoing inspection of materials, assemblies, and products for conformance to specifications.
- Includes visual, mechanical, and electrical circuit inspections.
- Includes documentation reviews.
- Maintain Quality documents, logs, samples, equipment, and all related files.
- Nonconformance Reports (NCR)
- Supplier Claims
- Return Material Authorizations (RMA)
- Rework Orders
- Inspection Set Up
- Inventory Transactions
- Communicate Quality issues with various functions including, but not limited to, Customer Service, Purchasing, Engineering, Logistics and Production. This may include communication with other Armstrong sites.
- Communicate Quality issues with customers and suppliers.
- Assist as needed with the following functions:
- Tool and gauge calibration and maintenance
- Customer and regulatory audits and inspections.
- Internal and external audits of the QMS and EMS
- Corrective action analysis and implementation.
- Identify opportunities to enhance and improve policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area.
- Perform other related duties as directed by Company Leadership.
- Must have a high school diploma. Two- or four-year college degree preferred.
- Clerical experience with knowledge of general office practices, procedures, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings and specifications.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good organizational skills. Able to multi‑task and prioritize.
- Able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
- Working computer knowledge. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems requirements.
- Manual dexterity and strength/stamina to perform all tasks. Able to lift 45 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to work in a non‑air‑conditioned environment.
