Chiller and Cooling Systems Operator

Onsite Data Center or POD Facility

The Chiller and Cooling Systems Operator is responsible for the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of chilled water and cooling infrastructure supporting high density compute PODs, including ARMS 200 environments. This role ensures reliable, efficient, and redundant cooling operations for mission critical data center systems.

The position focuses on operational excellence, preventive maintenance, rapid troubleshooting, and coordination with internal teams and external service providers to maintain high availability cooling environments.

• Operate, start up, shut down, and monitor chilled water systems supporting ARMS 200 PODs
• Perform daily operational inspections of chillers, cooling towers or dry coolers, pumps, and heat exchangers
• Monitor system performance using BMS, SCADA, and DCIM platforms
• Adjust operating parameters to maintain efficiency, redundancy, and uptime in N plus 1 and 2N environments

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on centrifugal, screw, and scroll chillers
• Maintain pumps, valves, actuators, expansion tanks, and filtration systems
• Support chemical water treatment programs and water quality monitoring
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues
• Coordinate maintenance activities with OEM service providers and third party contractors
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, SOPs, and incident documentation

• Support cooling towers, adiabatic coolers, and heat rejection systems
• Operate and maintain CDUs for liquid cooling environments
• Support secondary fluid and heat rejection networks
• Monitor make up water systems, blowdown controls, leak detection, and environmental monitoring systems
• Interface with electrical and controls teams during commissioning, upgrades, and expansions

• Experience operating and maintaining chilled water systems in data centers, industrial facilities, or critical infrastructure
• Hands on experience with chiller plants, cooling towers, pumps, and heat exchangers
• Familiarity with BMS, SCADA, and DCIM monitoring systems
• Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and control systems
• Understanding of redundancy concepts including N plus 1 and 2N architectures

• Experience supporting high density compute or liquid cooled environments
• Experience with CDUs and advanced cooling systems
• OEM or industry certifications related to HVAC or chiller systems
• Experience working in mission critical or colocation data center environments

• Onsite role in a mission critical facility
• Shift work or on call rotation may be required
• Ability to respond to critical incidents and maintenance windows
