The Core Role

Production Engineering Lead (L6 / Staff Level)

This is a Staff-Level (L6) role. You are not just a senior contributor; you are a strategic technical leader responsible for the reliability and speed of the firm s most critical trading engines.

• Scope: You solve ambiguous, multi-team problems. You don t just fix incidents; you eliminate entire classes of failure across the organization.
• Force Multiplier: You set the technical standard. Your code, architecture, and mentorship elevate the output of every engineer around you.
• Strategic Autonomy: You identify the "unknown unknowns" in infrastructure and drive solutions without needing a roadmap handed to you.

We need a Software Engineer who fell in love with Infrastructure.

• Java Expert: You understand JVM internals (Heap, GC tuning, JIT compilation) to squeeze every microsecond out of execution.
• Python/C++ Polyglot: You know Python’s low-level hooks (C-API, GIL, memory management) and how to debug complex interactions in a mixed C++/Java/Python environment.
• Pedigree: You come from Big Tech (Google L6, Meta E6) or a top-tier Trading Firm where "down" means massive financial loss.

You operate as the "Universal Translator" between the machine room and the trading floor.

• Cross-Silo Influence: You negotiate directly with Traders, Portfolio Managers, and Quants
  , translating business volatility into technical capacity.
• Executive Presence: You can explain a kernel panic to a developer and a risk calculation to a business leader in the same hour.

• Data & Storage: Deep experience with Q/KDB+ and Postgres
  . You know how to optimize queries and storage for massive datasets.
• Observability: You don t just use tools; you design monitoring, logging, and automation frameworks that detect failure modes before humans do.
• Core Infra: Expert-level Linux, Kubernetes, and Cloud architecture.

• Lead & Scale: Mentor a team of engineers while remaining hands-on in code.
• Architect for Failure: Analyze complex systems to identify failure modes and build self-healing architecture.
• War Room Command: Lead the resolution of high-pressure incidents across the full stack (Network -> OS -> App).
